CONSOL Energy is the legal survivor of the January 2025 merger with Arch Resources — the company was renamed Core Natural Resources and began trading under the CNR ticker on January 15, 2025. Headquarters stayed in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
What CONSOL brought to the deal
- The Pennsylvania Mining Complex. Bailey, Enlow Fork, and Harvey — one of the largest and most productive underground mining complexes in North America, producing high calorific value thermal coal.
- Export logistics. CONSOL's marine terminal in Baltimore gave the combined company owned dock capacity on the East Coast — a structural advantage when seaborne demand is where the growth is.
- The Itmann complex. A low-vol metallurgical operation in West Virginia rounding out the met side of the book.
Current financials, production data, and safety disclosures for the legacy CONSOL operations are published in Core Natural Resources' SEC filings under ticker CNR.
